OUR STORY

Falsely Accused Day is an annual event that is the culmination of efforts by a number of individuals and support organisations in the UK who have joined forces to raise awareness of the scourge of False Accusations.

The 9th of September was chosen to honour a tireless campaigner who was falsely accused of historical child abuse and sadly passed away at the beginning of 2020 but we celebrate his birthday which is Falsely Accused Day.

His experience was not unique and many thousands of people in the UK every year find themselves thrown into an alternate reality where they are required to prove historic allegations are false or risk facing being charged and the very real possibility of conviction for a crime they did not commit.

Over the years, whilst we have been holding a Falsely Accused Day in the UK, the rest of the world took interest and we now have 20 other countries holding peaceful protests on 9th September - hence, we are now known as INTERNATIONAL FALSELY ACCUSED DAY where we all stand together on this one day to raise awareness of the devastating impact of false allegations on the lives of the innocent.
